JOCHEN KERN

Chef Jochen Kern was born in Germany and gained experiences in many countries around the world in restaurant and international hotels in Germany, Hapag Lloyd cruise liners, Switzerland, and Cameroon, West Africa.

With international hotel chains for Hyatt he worked for 10 years in Singapore, Bali, Jakarta, Baghdad, and the Caribbean island of San Marteen. He’s working with the hotel chains of Shangri La, Sheraton and Intercontinental hotels in China, Fiji, Penang, Hong Kong and New Delhi.

Currently Chef Jochen Kern is the executive chef of the Equatorial Hotel In Kuala Lumpur, he serves on the committee of the Chefs Association of Malaysia as there education officer. He’s been appointed as president of the culinary arts center in Penang in 1999.

Chef Jochen is also the President and founder of Le Cordon Noire, an exclusive Gourmet Club, with many members all round the world.

Chef Jochen involvement in culinary arts goes back over 20 years, with participating and judging in various culinary contests here in Asia, such as, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, Penang and New Delhi.

In 1977 he graduated with a Masterchef certificate from the Chamber of commerce Germany in cookery, and became a WACS Global Masterchef in 2008 at the WACS congress in Dubai.
