Chef Chumpol Jangprai was born in the kitchen of his family’s renowned Thai restaurant “Sa Nguan See” in 1955. Growing up in the restaurant, he started working full time in the kitchen from when he was 13 years old.

Chef Chumpol joined as first Chef at the Blue Elephant Restaurant in 1993 in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1994, he was promoted to be the Asst. Head Chef of Blue Elephant in Brussels, Belgium - the original Blue Elephant Restaurant, where he the been promoted to be the Executive Chef in 1995. 

In 2000 he was appointed to the position of Corporate Chef of Blue Elephant Group worldwide.  In 2002 he returned to Bangkok with the opening of the Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant, adding the role of Executive Chef to his duties.  In addition, he has worked on Blue Elephant’s product production side, as Project Manager of curry paste production and Blue Elephant’s Ready Meal products.

In 2003 he was named “The Best Young Chef in Bangkok” in Traditional and in innovation Food’’ by the international gourmet magazine Saveur.

Chef Chumpol has been invited over the years to be the guest speaker at numerous seminars and events in Thailand, organized by both the private and government sectors, including the SME Seminar for Thai Foods, and the series organized by the Ministries of Labor and Public Health also Lecturer of Thai Cooking Course for Over sea and in Thailand since 1993 till now. He has also been asked to be the host of several TV programs.

Today he’s The Master Chef of Vermilion Restaurant & Cinnabar, UK, the Secretary General of the Thai Chefs’ Association, Brand Ambassador of ‘‘Nestle Professional’’ and Vice President of Thai Restaurant Association.
