Alan Palmer

Alan Palmer was born in England and holds a Swiss passport. His forty five years of work experience in the Hospitality Industry has taken him to five continents, 4 years in UK, 12 years in Switzerland, 5 years in Kenya, over 18 years in Singapore and for the last 8 years he resides in Sri Lanka.

He holds a Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management and the Certified Technical Trainer diploma. He been lecturer in Kenya and Singapore States hotel schools for many years,

He is a Founding Honorary Lifetime Member of the Singapore Chefs Association, a Honorary Lifetime Member of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), the Singapore Chefs Association and the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations.

He is the Global Competition Coordinator of the WACS endorsed Meat and Livestock Australia, MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge. He was a judge at the very first MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge in Bali 1996. To date there have been 77 events.

He is the Culinary Consultant for South Asia Exhibition Services and other International event organizers. He also supports culinary activities initiated by the Sri Lanka Tourism Board.

He been involved in culinary competition for many years such as;
KUC Student Culinary Team: Hotel Olympia London, 1978/80 SHATEC Student Culinary Team: Taste of Canada, Toronto, 1989/93 Singapore National Culinary Team: Vancouver Canada 1987, Sapporo Japan 1989, Chicago USA 1991 and Singapore 1992.
